Yard Improvements

Fenay Cottage is fortunate to have a small private walled yard. One wall of the yard is dressed stone with three mullioned alcoves that originally were the windows of the village girls school that apparently closed in the 1920's. The schoolroom has long since been filled in and a garden established where the roof would have been.
We have finally managed to replace the, rather tatty, garden bench that sat in the corner of the yard with a purpose made bench. This will make a lovely place for a quiet read with a cup of tea as it catches the morning sun.

Decided to Start a Blog

We have just spent the week staying at Fenay Cottage and splitting our time between relaxing walks on the Beach with our dog Dot.
When you are busy dealing the day to day running of the holiday cottage it can be all too easy to forget why you bought the cottage in the first place. I have fond childhood memories of visits to Robin Hoods Bay and the best way to relive those delights is to immerse yourself in the place for a few days.
Climbing the steps to the cliff top path is well worth the effort, rewarding you with views of the village and its unique relationship with the sea.
